Good morning. Earlier this week, we released the best project I've worked on at Food52: Our profile of legendary Vermont woodworker J.K. Adams. Here are 3 reasons why this video's worth a few moments of your time.
1. You'll laugh. Think of the quickest person you know, now give them 50 years of stories—that's J.K. Adams' president and owner Malcolm Cooper, who we follow for the majority of the video.
2. You'll dig their story. Like many other New England woodworkers, J.K. Adams' has had every opportunity to ditch its hometown and move production abroad. Yet, the company's feet remain firmly planted in Dorset, Vermont. Why? A mix of family, community, and grit.
3. You'll want their stuff. Especially this wine rack—which they make by repurposing wood waste from a nearby shovel handle manufacturer. (Now's a good time to snag it, by the way—you can get free shipping with code LAZYDAYS, but only until tonight.)
