My favorite spots in Savannah
Two Tides
Asher & Rye
The Wyld
Leopold's Ice Cream
I spent a week with my mom in Savannah and put together this tip sheet for you:
  • Where to eat
    • Brochu’s Family Tradition: It’s tough to get a reservation since The New York Times named this one of the top 50 restaurants in the U.S., so plan ahead. The roasted oysters and fried chicken are not to be missed.
    • The Grey: Order the crab salad with pickled corn and Szechuan breadcrumbs, smothered grouper, and pie of the day.
    • Common Thread: One of the most romantically lit restaurants I’ve been to. Get the pepper salad and Richard’s piri piri chicken.
    • The Wyld: Go here for dinner on a dock overlooking a grassy waterway. We had crispy shrimp, fried okra and tomato salad.
    • Leopold’s Ice Cream: Leopold’s ice creams, which they’ve been making since 1919, are fluffy, creamy and not too sweet. The rum bisque (rum ice cream dotted with lumps of chewy meringue) and the butter pecan are tops.
  • Where to caffeinate
    • Origin Coffee: The Miel latte is lightly scented with honey and cinnamon; they serve a full breakfast, beautifully made.
    • Collins Quarter: Great coffee by Partners and just the place for a hearty brunch.
  • Where to sip
    • Artillery: A relaxed, well-appointed cocktail bar with a great list of N/A cocktails as well!
    • Two Tides Brewing: You can order flights of 5-ounce glasses and taste a few beers without tipping over
  • Where to shop
    • Asher + Rye: A beautifully-curated collection of home and gardening goods, clothing, and grocery—with a Scandinavian influence and relaxed Southern vibe.
Enjoy the fall weekend!
