Good morning. This week is Halloween—a holiday that, last year, was textured by a storm of apron-clad, white-T-shirt-wearing, fake-tattoo-having, "Yes chef"-barking, Carmy imposters. Due to the show's lackluster third season—just my opinion—this Thursday's forecast predicts a much lighter shower of The Bear characters. Meaning, a void of culinary costumes awaits. Here's what you can wear (and cook) to fill it:
A Cosmo, a Bob, & Cauliflower Toast. To make this abundantly clear: If you drink a cosmo, wear a bob, and make this cauliflower toast people will think you're the brains behind many of Food52's most popular recipes. Of course, if you really want to convince people you're Ina—you'll also want to make this parmesan roasted broccoli, this Pasta Alla Vecchia Bettola, and this crispy chicken with lemon orzo.
A Button-down, Mac, & Potato Chip Fried Chicken Wings. Martha and Snoop. There are infinite costume options for these two titans of industry (although I do think the button-down is Martha's most signature garb), but the dishes they're best known by are singular. That's these wings for Snoop and this time-tested, community favorite, mac & cheese from Martha. Both, like their creators, are iconic.
The Churro From Challengers. Step one: Drape yourself in varying shades of brown. Step two: Make these Erin McDowell churros and bring them to wherever you're headed. (Or, spend the night on the couch eating the whole batch, while rewatching one of the year's most memorable movies.)
