Good morning. We've entered the best part of summer: The weeks between Memorial Day and 4th of July, when the sun's warmth is firm, but fair and friends have yet to be swallowed by family vacations, camps, or—worst—"the Hamptons." To celebrate this joyous period, I'm completing the following tasks: 1. Rum & Hot Dogs & Friends. That is the name of the party my friends and I are throwing next week. A tribute to summer's finer things, we're going deep on dirty onions, Mai Tais, and Sweet Tea Rum Punch. 2. Freezer Full of Ice Cream Sandwiches. Because it sounds nice. And cold. Especially cold. I'm eyeing two recipes in particular: These raspberry ice cream sandwiches from community member Fiveandspice and Joanne Chang's more traditional, mint-chocolate version. 3. Whole Fish + Grill. I've said it before, but I don't think any dish wins over a crowd more than grilled, whole fish. This Plaa Phao Kleua is calling my name. |

If I were a guest lucky enough to attend an event as prestigious as the inaugural Rum & Hot Dogs & Friends party, I'd honor the host's generosity and steadfast commitment to hot dog awareness by bringing a fantastic, delicious summer dessert. Like anything included in this article of 35 Genius Summer Desserts. Or maybe one (or two) of these 7 Boozy Summer Desserts. And, for good measure, at least one of these 11 Iconic Summer Desserts. |

You can find the recipe here. In other news, the British are coming. That's right: The Brits behind Great British Food are coming to town for the Fancy Food Show, and we're hosting their welcoming party at Food52 HQ on Friday, June 21, from 6 to 8 p.m. Stop by and sample the best of UK food and drink, plus get a cooking demo from The Great British Bake Off's Crystelle Pereira.
