What to Cook Next Week No Images? Click here After a busy day, the last thing you want to do is spend hours in the kitchen pulling dinner together. Luckily, we have a wealth of delicious weeknight meals that will have you in and out of the kitchen in one hour or less. Meet our weekly dinner plan: five easy dinners for five busy weeknights, all sent in advance so you can get your shopping done ahead of time. Cook along with us! Your Week Ahead MONDAY Causa (Peruvian Cold Mashed Potato Casserole With Tuna or Chicken) Mashed potatoes, tuna salad, and potato salad all layered into one casserole. If you think we're describing an American classic, you'll be surprised to hear that it's actually a Peruvian casserole called causa. It gets a distinctly Peruvian flavor thanks to the ají amarillo paste in the potatoes. TUESDAY Stir-Fried Beef With Chinese Broccoli If you're a fan of beef with broccoli, you'll want to make this version that uses Chinese broccoli (gai lan) in place of the broccoli florets common to most North American takes on the dish. Mildly bitter gai lan is just the match for the marinated beef, shallots, garlic, and oyster sauce. WEDNESDAY Japanese Omelette-Topped Ketchup Fried Rice With Chicken (Omurice) Wednesday-night dinner calls for something easy yet exciting, and that's where omurice comes in. The Japanese dish combines a still-custardy omelette with rice that's been fried with onion, carrot, diced chicken, and ketchup. In other words, it's the ultimate comfort food. THURSDAY Grilled Bratwurst With Warm German Potato Slaw This no-plates-or-silverware-necessary dinner of grilled brats topped with a warm slaw of red cabbage, potatoes, red pepper, and onion is calling to us at this point in the week. The sausages are first cooked on the grill with the slaw before they're finished over direct heat, popped into soft rolls with the salad, and devoured by all. FRIDAY Bengali-Style Fried Fish in Onion and Tomato Curry (Fish Bhuna) Bhuna is the name for a thick South Asian curry, and this particular one is composed of fish steaks, tomatoes, onions, and ginger. We suggest using dorade or another white-fleshed fish, and serving the curry on a bed of rice and alongside a simple cucumber salad. Your Weekend Project Ah, the weekend. Visions of time-consuming kitchen endeavors have been dancing in your head all week long, and finally you have the time to pursue them. But which one to choose? Let us guide your efforts with what we're taking on over the weekend. Step up your burger game with these peppery, cheesy burgers. For maximum flavor, the pork patties should be made and seasoned a day ahead. Then they're ready to be stuffed with mozzarella, coated in pepper, and cooked on the grill. |

Jammy Fruit Bars For Breakfast or Dessert
Your Recipe of the Day No Images? Click here Jammy Fruit Bars These fruity, oaty bars are inspired by Icelandic Hjónabandssæla (often translated as "happy marriage cake"), but perhaps closer to an American bar cookie in execution. They're hearty and rich, thanks to plenty of rolled oats and butter in the crust and crumb topping, with a flavorful layer of jam or fresh fruit in between. What kind? That's all up to you!
